George Edward "Bud" Holloway III (born March 1, 1988 in Wapella , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League .
Career
Holloway began his career with the Seattle Thunderbirds in the Western Hockey League (WHL), for which he was regularly used from the 2004/05 WHL season . In the 2006 NHL Entry Draft , Holloway was selected in the third round in a total of 86th position by the Los Angeles Kings . Then the offensive player completed two more seasons for the Thunderbirds in the Western Hockey League. On April 24, 2008, Holloway signed a three-year entry - level contract with the Los Angeles Kings.
In the following three years, however, the winger did not play a game for the Kings in the National Hockey League , but was mainly used for their farm team Manchester Monarchs in the American Hockey League . In the summer of 2011, Bud Holloway turned down a contract offer from the Los Angeles Kings and instead signed a one-year contract with Skellefteå AIK from the Swedish Elitserien . In the Elitserien season 2011/12 he was runner-up with his new team after Skellefteå lost the play-off final series against Brynäs IF . Then Skellefteå and Holloway agreed to extend the contract by one year. In the 2012/13 Elitserien season , Holloway scored 71 points in 55 games, making it the league's most successful scorer. In addition, he was awarded the Guldhjälmen as the most valuable player . In the Elitserien play-offs 2013 he reached the championship finals with Skellefteå, where he beat Luleå HF . Then his contract was extended for another year.
In May 2014. He signed a two-year contract with SC Bern of the National League A . However, he returned to North America in July 2015 when he signed a one-year contract with the Canadiens de Montréal . They gave it to St. John's IceCaps as part of the preparation for the season . During the season he made his NHL debut, but it was a single use in the top division of North America. Therefore, he returned to Europe after the end of the season and signed a two-year contract with HK CSKA Moscow .
However, ZSKA terminated this contract in November 2016, so that Holloway returned to Skellefteå AIK in Sweden.
