Buko Gebhard von Krosigk (born April 7, 1824 in Berlin ; † March 2, 1909 there ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Buko was the son of the Prussian Lieutenant General Ernst von Krosigk (1782-1872) and his wife Auguste, nee Countess von Alvensleben (1791-1856).

Military career

Krosigk attended high school in Magdeburg , joined the Gardes du Corps regiment of the Prussian Army on August 7, 1841 and was promoted to Rittmeister and chief of the 6th Company by mid-November 1854 . From May 21, 1858 to April 24, 1862 he was chief of the 2nd company and commander of the 1st squadron. Then Krosigk was promoted to major to the regular staff officer and took part in this capacity in 1866 during the war against Austria in the battles at Skalitz , Schweinschädel and Königgrätz .

After the peace agreement , Krosigk was appointed lieutenant colonel in September and on October 30, 1866 commander of the regiment of the Gardes du Corps. As a colonel , he led his cuirassiers in the war against France in the battles at Gravelotte , Beaumont , Sedan and the siege of Paris in 1870/71 . Awarded the Iron Cross II. Class, Krosigk was initially commissioned with the leadership of the 1st Guard Cavalry Brigade on November 11, 1871 under position à la suite and was appointed commander of this brigade on December 8, 1871 . On March 22, 1873 he advanced to major general in this position and in 1875 received the Order of St. Stanislaus 1st Class and the Commander's Cross 1st Class of the Order of the Sword .
