Ernst Friedrich von Krosigk (born May 6, 1782 in Poplitz , † October 27, 1872 in Dessau ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Ernst came from the noble family of Krosigk . He was the son of Ferdinand Anton von Krosigk (1743-1805) and his wife Dorothea Luise, née von Cramm (1753-1824). Krosigk's brothers included Dedo , Heinrich , Ludwig , Friedrich and Anton Emil von Krosigk .

Military background

Krosigk began his career in the Prussian army in 1794 as a private corporal in the "Crown Prince" infantry regiment . He was promoted to ensign in the regiment in 1798 and second lieutenant in 1801 . In the Fourth Coalition War he took part in the battles at Heiligenbeil , Gollau , Königsberg and Memel . In 1807 he was aggregated to the regiment of the Gardes du Corps , where he was promoted to prime lieutenant in 1808 , staff assistant master in 1809 , cavalry master in 1811 and major in 1813 . During the Wars of Liberation , he took part in the Battle of Großgörschen , the Battle of Bautzen , the Battle of Dresden , the Battle of Leipzig and the Battle of Paris . As early as 1913 he was appointed head of the Guard Voluntary Cossack Squadron. He was transferred to the 1st Cuirassier Regiment in 1815. In the same year he was promoted to lieutenant colonel , became regimental commander in the following year and in 1823 was promoted to colonel. Because of poor health, he retired in 1823 also with a half-pay of 800 thalers and has 1825 with the character as a major general and the statutory board his farewell get. In 1840 Krosigk was awarded the Red Eagle Order II. Class with Oak Leaves and in 1843 he received the character of Lieutenant General.

He was the master of House Nienburg near Oschersleben .

family

Krosigk married Auguste Countess von Alvensleben (1791–1856), a daughter of Johann Ernst von Alvensleben (1758–1827) and Caroline von Rohr (1771–1816) at Erxleben Castle on May 2, 1811 . From Krosigk's marriage it emerged:

  • Moritz (1816–1862) ⚭ Leonie Freiin von Rothkirch and Trach (1824–1897)
  • Elisabeth (1821–1882) ⚭ 1858 Hans Wilhelm von Kotze († 1868), district administrator
  • Buko Gebhard (1824–1909), Prussian lieutenant general

Trivia

In Paul Schreckenbach's historical novel The Evil Baron von Krosigk , about Krosigk's brother Heinrich during the Napoleonic Wars , a few lines are also dedicated to the Rittmeister Ernst von Krosigk.
