history
A sign near the ruins of Burg Trossingen reads:
" On the mountain spur, which is separated by two deep trenches from the height behind, a fortification from the Hallstein Age is suspected. Hüribach Castle stood there in the Middle Ages. It was built in the 12th century by the Mayers of Trossingen, feudal people of the Reichenau monastery. Heinrich VI., Maier von Trossingen, is mentioned in 1366 as lord of Hüribach. Towards the end of the 14th century the castle was sold to the Mayor of Rottweiler Heinrich Gantzler. In 1839 the ruins of the castle, called the "Old Castle", are still mentioned. "
