The 2000 Cadre 71/2 World Championship was the 22nd Cadre 71/2 World Championship. The tournament took place from March 2nd to 5th, 2000 in Albert in the Somme department. It was the eighth Cadre 71/2 World Championship in France.

history

The undefeated Belgian Frédéric Caudron won what was perhaps the last Cadre 71/2 World Championship . The new game system meant that each participant had to play at least five games, which was good for the players. But it was also possible to place in the front with few games won. The German Thomas Nockemann came fourth with only two wins. The two remaining medals went to the Frenchman Luis Edelin and the Spaniard Rafael Garcia. The ninth placed Austrian Michael Hikl had the best average of all participants with 48.50.

Tournament mode

Four preliminary round groups were played in the round robin system up to 250 points. The two best in the group qualified for the second group stage. In this the two group best played the Hafinale. All places were played out. If there is a tie between MPs, the direct comparison counts. If this tie fails, the following order will be counted:

  1. MP = match points
  2. GD = general average
  3. HS = maximum series
