Caitlin Fitzgerald (born August 25, 1983 in Camden , Maine ) is an American actress and film producer .

life and career

Caitlin Fitzgerald was born in Camden to Desmond 'Des' FitzGerald, founder of Ducktrap River Fish Farm Inc. and former CEO of ContiSea , and Pam Allen, owner of Quince & Co. She has a younger brother and two half-brothers. Her grandfather is Desmond Fitzgerald , a former CIA officer. Her aunt is the American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Frances Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald studied at Concord Academy in Massachusetts and at New York University . She also attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London .

Caitlin Fitzgerald has appeared in a number of films, such as Taking Woodstock (2009), If Love Would Be That Easy (2009) and Newlyweds (2011). In Like the Water (2012) she not only played one of the main characters, but also co-wrote the script. She also appeared on the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , Mercy , How to Make It in America and Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York . She was also seen in three episodes of The CW series Gossip Girl in 2011 . Since 2013 she has played the role of Libby Masters in the Showtime- produced series Masters of Sex . The series ended in 2016.

In 2012 Fitzgerald made her debut as a film producer for the film Like the Water , which is based on a true story.
