Cameron Riley Monaghan (born August 16, 1993 in Santa Monica , California ) is an American actor .

Life

After first appearances in commercials and plays, Cameron Monaghan made his debut as a television actor in the television adaptation of the musical The Music Man in 2003 . This earned him a direct nomination for the Young Artist Award , which he received for the first time the following year due to his acting performance in Malcolm right in the middle . He celebrated his premiere as a cinema actor in 2006 with a supporting role alongside Adam Sandler in Klick . In 2007 he appeared for the first time as Bob Andrews in Florian Baxmeyer's film Die drei ??? - To see the secret of the ghost island . He also took on this role in 2009 in its sequel The three ??? - The cursed castle . Since 2011 Monaghan has played the homosexual Ian Gallagher in the television series Shameless . In 2014 he took on a larger role in the film adaptation of the children's book Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters by Richelle Mead and in Keepers of Memory - The Giver .

In the computer game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order developed by the Respawn Entertainment studio , Monaghan took on the role of Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, who is controlled by the player.
