Carl Aubel
Carl Aubel , also Karl Aubel (born March 27, 1837 in Kassel , † April 27, 1882 in Cologne ) was a German engineer . He invented the eponymous heliographic process for reproduction of engravings , lithographs and woodcuts .
Life
Carl Aubel, son of the Kassel portrait painter, academy professor and gallery director Karl Christian Aubel , was named “ Princely ” in the winter of 1861 . Demidoff's mining and metallurgical engineer ”worked in the metallurgical works“ at Nizhne Tagilsk on the Urals ”in Russia . Among other things, Aubel published several articles in the Polytechnic Journal about his experiences there . Returning to Cologne , Aubel applied for European patents on behalf of Russian Major General Raschette for the universal shaft furnace developed in Russia. Aubel's brother-in-law, the architect August Carl Lange , made the patent drawings and took over the construction management of the shaft furnaces built in Mülheim near Cologne in 1864 .
Karl Aubel and his brother, the painter Hermann Aubel , published their book Ein Polarsommer ... about a " geognostic - industrial " ( research ) "trip to Lapland and Kanin " made in 1869 , which they "in memory of their revered protector [...] Constantine Ungern-Sternberg dedicated "and the 1874 nor the publisher of FA Brockhaus in Leipzig appeared.
