Carmen Antimo Argenziano (born October 27, 1943 in Sharon , Pennsylvania - † February 10, 2019 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor and drama teacher.

Life

Argenziano, who was a lifetime member of the Actor's Studio , learned and taught acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York with Sanford Meisner, Lee Grant , Milton Katselas, and Lee Strasberg .

Argenziano received the Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Award for his portrayal of Jack Delasante in Thomas Babe's A Prayer for my Daughter . His extensive theatrical work has included roles in A View from the Bridge (Strasberg Institute), Palladium is Moving (Court Theater), El Salvador (Tiffany) and the West Coast premiere of Julian Barry's Last Lucid Moment , directed by Jon Voight . One of his later theater activities was that of a double role in the play Take Me Out (Geffen Theater), in which he impersonated William Danziger and the "Skipper" .

Argenziano looked back on a long career and acted in more than 50 films and in more than 100 television films and television series. Argenziano, who often played authoritarian and dominant characters, became known to a wide audience through the recurring double role of Jacob Carter or "Selmak" in the American science fiction series Stargate SG-1 .

He taught with Mark Rydell and Martin Landau at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and at the Actor's Studio. In German-speaking countries, the voice actor Ernst Meincke gave him his voice. Argenziano was married and had three children, one daughter is a singer. He died in February 2019 at the age of 75.
