Carolle Zahi (born June 12, 1994 in Bingerville , Ivory Coast ) is a French athlete who specializes in sprinting .

Career

Carolle Zahi gained her first international experience in 2016 at the World Indoor Championships in Portland , where she was eliminated in the first round of the 60-meter run with 7.36 seconds. She then won the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Tunis in 11.28 s in the 100-meter run and in 45.69 s with the French 4-by-100-meter relay. At the IAAF World Relays 2017 in the Bahamas, she finished fifth in 43.90 s and was then nominated for the European team championship in the Lille Métropole stadium , where she started in the 100-meter run and the 4 x 100 meters -Season. She won over the 100 meters ahead of the German Gina Lückenkemper and British Corinne Humphreys . This gave France 10 points. The French 4 x 100 meter relay consisting of Floriane Gnafoua , Stella Akakpo , Charlotte Jeanne and Carolle Zahi was disqualified and could not win any points for France. At the end of the European team championship, she and the French team won the bronze medal behind Germany and Poland. By winning the national championship over 100 meters, she qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated in the first round with a time of 11.41 s . In the 4 x 100 meter relay , she and her teammates Orlann Ombissa-Dzangue , Ayodelé Ikuesan and Maroussia Paré missed the finals with 42.92 seconds.

In 2018 she reached the finals at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where she finished seventh with 7.19 seconds. At the end of June she won the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona in 23.02 s in the 200-meter run and in 43.29 s with the French relay. However, she only took part in the European Championships in Berlin over 100 meters and was seventh there in 11.20 s, while she came in fifth with the relay in 43.10 s. The following year she was eliminated from the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow over 60 meters with 7.35 s in the semifinals and at the World Relays in Yokohama , she won the 4 x 200 meter relay in 1: 32.16 min however, did not finish the race with the 4 x 100 meter relay. Over 200 meters she qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 23.03 s . In addition, she was disqualified with the relay in the run-up.

From 2017 to 2019 Zahi was French champion in the 100-meter run, as well as the 200-meter run in 2019 and in the 4 x 100-meter relay in 2015. In the hall she secured the championship titles over 60 meters in 2016 and 2018.
