Cedar Bluffs is a village in Saunders County in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The village is about ten kilometers southwest of Fremont and 58 kilometers northeast of Omaha and had a total of 610 inhabitants at the last census in 2010 .
history
The area around what is now the village of Cedar Bluffs was originally a native of the Pawnee tribe . They operated a ferry across the South Platte River near today's settlement. The village of Cedar Bluffs was officially established on July 26, 1886, when properties were parceled out and sold there as part of the extension of the Chicago & North Western Railroad . The name of the place derives from a cedar- covered river bank, north of Cedar Bluffs flows the South Platte River . At that time, the place was the only other settlement between the cities of Freemont and Wahoo . The first operation to open in Cedar Bluffs was a tool shop.
Shortly after it was founded, Cedar Bluffs had a pharmacy, a butcher's shop, a hairdressing salon, a saloon , a general store and three grocery stores, a bank, a hotel and several other small businesses. There was also a small theater in Cedar Bluffs. In 1905 the first church, the First Presbyterian Church, was built in the place. In 1917, St. Mary's Catholic Church was built. A school district was founded in 1914 and there has been a high school in Cedar Bluffs ever since. The town's third church, St. Matthews Lutheran Church, was built in 1965 after the church previously used by the parish about seven kilometers south of Cedar Bluffs collapsed in a storm. In 1969 a primary school was built right next to the existing school.
On September 1, 1981, the operation of the local railway line was stopped, the railway line was dismantled until 1983. Today Cedar Bluffs has a volunteer fire department and an American Legion post .

2010 Census
At the 2010 census, Cedar Bluffs had a population of 610 people, spread across 231 households and 165 families. Of the population, 96.6% were White , 0.8% Native Americans , 0.2% Asian, 0.8% were of other race, and 1.6% were multiracial. 1.8% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos . In terms of age, 26.6% of the population were under 18 years old, 8.5% were between 18 and 24, 22.2% between 25 and 44, 26.7% between 45 and 64 and 16.1% were older than 65 years . The median age was 39 years. There were children under the age of 18 in 36.8% of households and there were persons over 65 in 12.6% of households. 51.5% of the population were male and 48.5% were female.

At the 2000 census , Cedar Bluffs had 615 residents, spread across 247 households and 171 families. 99.02% of the population were white, 0.16% African American , 0.49% Native, 0.33% multi-race. Hispanics or Lations made up 0.16% of the total population.
The average income per household was in the city at this time 35,526 US dollars , the average income for a family was 39,271 US dollars. 6.6% of the population lived below the poverty line , of these inhabitants 6.5% were under 18 and 5.7% were over 65 years old.
Infrastructure
The economy in Cedar Bluffs is characterized by the rural location in particular agricultural, there is farmland around the city. Most of the residents of Cedar Bluffs now commute to Fremont, Schuyler , Wahoo or Omaha for work.
Cedar Bluffs is located on Nebraska Route 109 and about five miles west of US Highway 77 between Freemont and Lincoln .
