The European Center for the Development of Vocational Training ( CEDEFOP , English European Center for the Development of Vocational Training ) is an agency of the European Union and the EU's reference center for vocational training issues.
Cedefop was set up on 10 February 1975 by Council Regulation (EEC) No 337/75. It was initially based in Berlin, but since the European Central Bank was founded , Cedefop has been based in Thessaloniki , Greece .
The purpose is to provide information and analysis on VET systems and policy, research and practice in this area. Through information, research and dissemination activities, it supports VET professionals in developing and improving VET in Europe.
Cedefop research interests include the development and implementation of the European Qualifications Framework ( European Qualifications Framework ) with a view to appropriate the knowledge of recognition of qualifications.
Studies and publications can be downloaded free of charge from the website. Cedefop is run by representatives of workers , employers , national governments and the European Commission .
