Cellnex Telecom is a Spanish telecommunications service provider. The company operates cellular networks in several European countries such as Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands and is part of the Spanish benchmark index IBEX 35 . In 2019, Cellnex had a total of more than 29,000 locations that enable wireless data transmission. These include, for example, transmission masts that span extensive networks for wireless communication. The company offers its telecommunications infrastructure to external cell phone operators, broadcasters and public administrations. The business only includes the operation of the communication infrastructure; there is no direct contact with private end customers.

Cellnex maintains data networks that are intended to enable the networking of individual objects within the framework of the Internet of Things .

The company was formerly known as Abertis Telecom. The infrastructure group Abertis held a relative majority in the company until 2018, but sold its shares (29.9% of all shares) to the Italian holding company Edizione Srl , which also owns the Benetton Group , in July 2018 .
