Técnicas Reunidas, SA ( TRSA ) is a Spanish general contractor that offers the development , acquisition and construction of industrial and power plants, particularly for the petroleum sector . The company has been part of the IBEX 35 stock market index since April 2008 .

TRSA is a holding organization of companies capable of turnkey construction worldwide . Since 1959, the group has built more than 1000 industrial plants worldwide. International activities account for about 70% of the company's annual business, mainly in Latin America and China . The company has also recently expanded its presence in the Middle East , and in January 2009 TRSA won a major $ 1.2 billion contract to develop two oil fields in the United Arab Emirates for a subsidiary of ADNOC .

Since 1971 the company has had its own area for research and development . The R&D center is located in Madrid and is equipped with laboratory facilities and pilot plants that can be adapted to different configurations. The R&D department develops new processes and improves the existing ones in terms of economy and technology. For this, techniques and procedures from disciplines such as hydrometallurgy and electrochemistry are used. The main goal is to scale laboratory tests to industrial use.
