Cerami is a town in Enna consortium of municipalities outside the region Sicily in Italy with 1,916 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Cerami is 71 km northeast of Enna . The inhabitants are mainly employed in agriculture and milk processing ( dairy ).

The neighboring municipalities are Capizzi ( ME ), Cesarò ( ME ), Gagliano Castelferrato , Mistretta ( ME ), Nicosia and Troina .

history

A prehistoric settlement existed here in the Bronze Age . Today's place arose around the medieval fort.

In 1063 (June), Battle between the Normans by Roger von Hauteville and the Saracens ( Battle of Cerami ): Victory of the Normans.
