The Cère is a river in southwest France . It rises in the Monts du Cantal , on the Col de Font de Cère , in the municipality of Saint-Jacques-des-Blats . It generally drains westwards and after 120 kilometers flows into the Dordogne as a left tributary at Girac . In the middle reaches the Cère is dammed and forms the reservoir of Saint-Étienne-Cantalès .
