Gagnac-sur-Cère (until 1801 still with the spelling Gaignac ) is a French commune with 671 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitania region (until 2015 Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Figeac and the municipality of Causses et Vallée de la Dordogne .
geography
The community is located about 45 kilometers south-east of Brive-la-Gaillarde on the lower reaches of the Cère River on the south-western edge of the Massif Central . Neighboring municipalities are Altillac in the north, Cahus in the northeast, Laval-de-Cère in the east, Estal in the southeast, Cornac and Glanes in the south and Biars-sur-Cère in the west.
The districts of Le Port de Gagnac, Lavergne, La Raufie, La Bénéfie, Les Champs de Moé, Le Moulicou, La Teulière and Lavaur belong to the municipality of Gagnac-sur-Cère .
