Lauresses ( Occitan : Laureças ) is a French commune with 263 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Figeac and the canton Lacapelle-Marival (until 2015: canton Latronquière ).
geography
Lauresses is about 16 miles west-southwest of Aurillac and about 15 kilometers north-northwest of Figeac . Lauresses is surrounded by the neighboring communities Labastide-du-Haut-Mont in the north and northeast, Saint-Hilaire in the east, Quézac in the southeast, Saint-Cirgues in the south, Gorses in the west and southwest and Latronquière in the west.
