Biars-sur-Cère is a French commune with 2,139 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitanie region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Figeac and is the capital of the canton of Cère et Ségala . The inhabitants are called Biarnais .
geography
Biars-sur-Cère is located in the very north of the Lot department, right on the border with the neighboring Corrèze department . The municipality is located in the area of the Cère and Dordogne river valleys and covers an area of 363 hectares. The former Route nationale 140 also runs through Biars-sur-Cère . Neighboring municipalities are Gagnac-sur-Cère in the north and east, Glanes in the south-east, Bretenoux in the south and west and Girac in the north-west.
