The municipality is located around 15 kilometers west of Figeac , in the Causses du Quercy Regional Nature Park . Neighboring municipalities to Livernon are:

Livernon is located on the eastern foothills of the limestone - plateau Causse de Gramat with its distinctive karst formations . There is hardly any surface water in the municipality itself, as these all run underground and only come to the surface a few kilometers further east. The Célé River runs through the neighboring municipalities to the south .
