Bretenoux ( Occitan : Bertenor ) is a French commune with 1,356 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitanie region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Figeac and the canton of Cère et Ségala (until 2015: canton of Bretenoux ). The inhabitants are called Bretenouviens .

geography

Bretenoux is located 60 kilometers north-northeast of Cahors , in the very north of the Lot, on the river Cère . Bretenoux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Biars-sur-Cère in the north, Glanes in the east, Cornac in the south-east, Saint-Michel-Loubéjou in the south and south-east, Prudhomat in the south and south-west and Girac in the west and north-west.
