Cervantes is a municipality in the Philippine province of Ilocos Sur . Cervantes is very mountainous and is crossed by several rivers, such as the Abra . The highest mountains in the area are Mount Namogian at around 2000 m and Mount Monserrat at around 1700 m. The population lives mainly from rice cultivation. On the territory of the municipality is the Bessang Pass Natural Monument , with a national memorial.
