Chanel Iman (* 1. December 1990 in Atlanta , Georgia as Chanel Iman Robinson ) is an American model .

Life

Iman was born as the daughter of China Robinson and basketball coach George "Tic" Price. Her mother is Afro-American-Korean and her father is Afro-American. She grew up in Culver City , California and attended Fairfax High School in Los Angeles .

Model career

Iman won third place in the 2006 Ford Models ' Supermodel of the World and was also signed by the modeling agency. Iman started her catwalk career with Fall / Winter Fashion Week in 2006 for fashion houses like Custo Barcelona and DKNY . Since then she has also modeled for Dolce & Gabbana , Issey Miyake , Marc Jacobs , Valentino , Dsquared² , Hermès , Michael Kors , Oscar de la Renta , Ralph Lauren , Anna Sui , Diane von Fürstenberg , Vera Wang , Jean-Paul Gaultier , H&M and Stella McCartney . She also promoted Bottega Veneta , GAP , Victoria's Secret and United Colors of Benetton .

In the May 2007 issue of US Vogue she was featured on the cover as a new group of supermodels with Doutzen Kroes , Caroline Trentini , Raquel Zimmermann , Sasha Pivovarova , Agyness Deyn , Coco Rocha , Jessica Stam , Hilary Rhoda and Lily Donaldson .

On March 21, 2009, Iman hosted an episode of the MTV series "House of Style" with Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli , which first went on air in 1989.

For the American underwear label Victoria's Secret it ran from 2009 to 2011 in the annual fashion show. She had a contract there from 2010 to 2012.

Chanel Iman is listed among the top sexiest models on models.com in 2015. Together with Kate Upton and Adriana Lima, she is one of the most sought-after models.
