Changshou District in Chongqing

Changshou ( Chinese  长寿 区 , Pinyin Chángshòu Qū ) is a district of the government- direct city ​​of Chongqing in the People's Republic of China. It has an area of ​​1,415.49 km². In the 2000 and 2010 censuses, Changshou recorded 874,307 and 770,009 residents, respectively.

Changshou Lake is an important recreational destination for residents of the urban area of ​​Chongqing, which is about 80 km south. The man-made lake is the product of a dam along the Longxi River and is also called the Shizitan Reservoir. The area of ​​the reservoir is 60 km 2 .

Puti Mountain is also a popular destination in Changshou, mainly because of its Buddhist history. The Buddhist temple on the mountain has the same name.
