"Liangjiang New District"
Except for the street districts Lianglu and Wangjia and the large communities Luoqi, Xinglong, Cizhu, Tongjing, Dasheng and Dawan, the entire area of Yubei also became part of the so-called "New District" Liangjiang (两 江 新区Liǎngjiāng Xīnqū ) , which was founded on June 18, 2010 . It also includes parts of the Jiangbei and Beibei districts . However, Liangjiang is purely a measure to promote economic development; H. Liangjiang is not a city district in the administrative sense. It is administered by the "Liangjiang New District Development and Development Committee" (两 江 新区 开发 建设 领导 小组Liangjiang Xinqu kaifa jianshe lingdao xiaozu ), which is made up of representatives from Chongqing City and the districts concerned. Accordingly, Yubei will retain its previous administrative boundaries with its people's government and the associated political structures (People's Congress, Consultative Conference), at least for the time being.
