Qianjiang (Chongqing)

Qianjiang ( Chinese  黔江 区 , Pinyin Qiánjiāng Qū ) is a southwest Chinese municipality of the government- direct city ​​of Chongqing . Its area is 2,397 km². In 2000 and 2010 censuses, Qianjiang had 442,385 and 445,012 residents, respectively.

The area was hit by a major earthquake in 1856 .
