Fuling ( Chinese  涪陵 区 , Pinyin Fúlíng Qū ) is a southwest Chinese municipality of the government- direct city ​​of Chongqing . In 2000 and 2010 censuses, Fuling had 1,134,080 and 1,066,714 residents, respectively. Its area is 2,941.46 km².

The rocky island of the "White Crane Stone" (1600 m long, approx. 25 m wide) was flooded by the Dreischluchten reservoir in front of the city. To protect the carved 163 poems, 14 fish and with the hydrological data of the lowest water levels of the last 1000 years (the ancient hydrological station Beiheliang, best preserved hydrological station in the world), a "museum under the water" for 14 Million euros built.
