Charlotte Chable (born October 31, 1994 ) is a Swiss ski racer . She specializes in the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .

biography

Chable comes from Villars-sur-Ollon in the canton of Vaud . At the age of 15 she took part in FIS races from November 2009 . The first appearances in the European Cup followed in December 2010 , initially without any significant results. Two months later she was a participant in the European Youth Olympic Festival in Liberec . Due to an injury, she had to take a break for more than three months in the 2011/12 season, and the following 2012/13 season she had to end prematurely ( cruciate ligament tears on both knees and a broken foot). She then concentrated on the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom and won an FIS race for the first time in December 2013.

On December 4, 2014 Chable achieved the first European Cup podium, with 3rd place in the slalom of Hemsedal . The first World Cup appearance followed on January 13, 2015 in the Flachau slalom , where she was eliminated in the first round. Although she clearly missed the Swiss-Ski selection guidelines , she was surprisingly nominated for the 2015 World Championships in Vail / Beaver Creek due to good training performance . After finishing fourth in the team competition there, she finished 15th in the World Cup slalom in the middle of the world elite. She confirmed this result on February 22, 2015 with 11th place in the Maribor slalom , with which she won her first World Cup points. At the season finale in Méribel on March 20, 2015, she and the Swiss team won the team competition against Sweden and Austria, which is only part of the Nations Cup . A year later, on March 18, 2016, she was again in the victorious Swiss team, which this time won the final in St. Moritz ahead of Germany and Sweden. She achieved her best result in the World Cup so far on November 29, 2015 in Aspen with 9th place. In the Santa Caterina slalom on January 5, 2016, she finished second in the first run with starting number 28. In the second run she was on the podium course until shortly before the finish, before falling back to 27th place due to a gross mistake.

The 2016/17 season was unhappy . At the beginning of October she injured her ankle during training in Saas Fee and had to postpone the start of the season. She was only able to race again in December. She drove a total of five races this season, but never reached the second run. In January, she tore her cruciate ligament in a training fall and had to end the season. In the 2017/18 season she did not contest any World Cup races, but did start at FIS races and in the European Cup. She was able to win an FIS race; in the European Cup she did not finish in any race. At the Swiss Championships in Hasliberg in April 2018 , she won the bronze medal behind Wendy Holdener and Carole Bissig .
