Chavagnes (also: Chavagnes-les-Eaux ) is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Terranjou with 1,294 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Chavagnais .

On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Chavagnes merged with Notre-Dame-d'Allençon and Martigné-Briand to form the new municipality of Terranjou. It belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Chemillé-Melay (until 2015: canton of Thouarcé ).

Chavagnes is located about 23 kilometers south-southeast of Angers in the Anjou wine-growing region , specifically in the Coteaux-du-Layon region .

The municipality of Chavagnes was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Notre-Dame-d'Allençon in the north and northwest, Les Alleuds in the north and northeast, Luigné in the east, Martigne-Briand in the south and Thouarcé in the west.
