Chiara (* 12. August 1986 in Padua as Chiara Galiazzo ) is an Italian pop singer . She won the sixth season of the talent show X Factor in Italy in 2012 .

biography

Chiara Galiazzo comes from Padua and moved to Milan when she was 19 . She graduated from a business degree and then worked for a financial company. In addition, she attended the Centro Professione Musica in order to realize her dream of a singing career. In 2008 she applied to the casting show Amici and in 2011 for the first time to X Factor , both times she was rejected in the preselection.

In 2012 Chiara tried again at X Factor and this time joined the team of candidates aged 25 and over. Already in the first round she achieved by far the best voting result and then clearly won every further round including the final, in which she received almost 75% of the audience's votes. Her subsequently published competition song Due respiri , which Eros Ramazzotti had written for her together with others, then reached number one on the charts and stayed there for three weeks. The album Un posto nel mondo , released a little later, reached number two in the charts. She then took part in the Sanremo Festival with Il futuro che sarà .

In the summer of 2013 she recorded the song Stardust with the English musician Mika . The song became her second number one hit and stayed at the top of the chart for several weeks again. In 2014 the second album Un giorno di sole was released and in 2015 the singer again took part in the Sanremo Festival , this time with the song Straordinario . The third competition took place at the Sanremo Festival 2017 .
