Christopher Burke (born December 2, 1983 in Glasgow , Scotland ) is a Scottish football player. He is currently under contract with FC Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership .

Career

Burke comes from the youth of the Glasgow Rangers, but before that he had played at the Celtic Boys Club , a youth club from Glasgow that produced well-known players such as Roy Aitken , Tom Boyd and Paul McStay . In the 2001/02 season, the Scot made his debut for the Rangers in the league game against FC Kilmarnock , in the same game he also met for the first time. Since then, Burke has been an integral part of the Rangers' regular team and also took part in their 2004 Champions League season . However, the Glasgow Rangers failed in Group E as bottom group.

In 2007 Burke extended his contract by two years until 2009. After he was only used in two league games in the 2008/09 season, he moved to Cardiff City in the Football League Championship in January 2009 . In the 2009/10 season Burke completed 44 league games and scored nine goals. Cardiff City finished the season in fourth place in the table, but failed after a success over Leicester City in the play-off final at Wembley with 2: 3 at Blackpool . Chris Burke missed promotion to the Premier League very closely.

On July 29, 2014, Burke moved to Nottingham Forest and signed a two-year contract. In January 2016, Burke was loaned out to Rotherham United for the remainder of the 2015/16 season . He then moved to Ross County and FC Kilmarnock .
