Stuart Findlay (born September 14, 1995 in Rutherglen ) is a Scottish football player . The defender is under contract with FC Kilmarnock .

Career

Stuart Findlay was born in the Scottish town of Rutherglen near Glasgow . He began his career in the youth of Celtic Glasgow , for which he was active in the Youth Academy until 2013 . He was also the team captain of the club's U-17s for some time . From the 2013/14 season he was a few times in the professional squad, but remained without use. From January to June 2014 Findlay was loaned to the Scottish second division club Greenock Morton and completed 14 games; at the end of the season , the team was relegated. A year later he played 15 times on loan at the second division club FC Dumbarton . In July 2015 he was awarded for a season to Scottish first division club FC Kilmarnock .

In the summer of 2016 he moved to the English second division club Newcastle United . For the Magpies Findlay played in the reserve team in the Development League . In August 2017 it was awarded to FC Kilmarnock. The club later signed him up.

National team

Stuart Findlay has played international for the Scottish junior national teams since 2010. He made his debut in the U-16 in August 2010 against the selection from Jersey . By the following year he was used in three more games and moved up to the U-17 in September 2011 . There he played eight games as a defensive player by the end of the year, scoring two goals. From 2012 to 2013 he played seven times in the U-19 , and since 2012 he has also played in the U-21 .
