Mohamed El Makrini (born July 6, 1987 in Utrecht ) is a Dutch football player of Moroccan origin. The defensive midfielder is under contract with FC Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership .

Career

Mohamed El Makrini began his career in the youth teams of CDW and Elinkwijk before joining FC Den Bosch in 2002 . For the club he gained his first professional experience in the second Dutch league from the 2005/06 season . After six seasons in 's-Hertogenbosch , he moved to SC Cambuur within the second division in August 2011 . At his new club from Leeuwarden , he was placed directly in midfield. As a regular player, he helped the club to the championship in 2013 and the associated promotion to the Eredivisie . In the following two years El Makrini held the league with Cambuur. At the end of the 2014/15 season he left the Netherlands and moved to Odense BK in Denmark .

In the Danish Super League , El Makrini also knew how to convince. During the current 2016/17 season he was signed in January 2017 for a transfer fee of € 150,000 from Roda JC Kerkrade from the Netherlands. The relegation-threatened club saved itself in relegation from relegation, which was carried out a year later after losing relegation. El Makrini remained in Kerkrade in the following second division season .

In July 2019 he signed a contract with FC Kilmarnock from the Scottish Premiership .
