Christian Zippel (born November 5, 1967 in Berlin ) is a German composer , music producer and entrepreneur.

Life

Between 1979 and 1984 Zippel's music was designed to be relatively acoustic. As a member of several school bands, he played drums and keyboard in addition to guitar and gained his first musical experience on the stages of Berlin clubs. The turning point was the professional studio recordings in 1984 in the Kreuzberg Mythos Studio by Stefan Kaske with his band "M-Pire".

Between 1985 and 1989, Zippel studied audio engineering at the SAE , bought more studio equipment, worked in local cafes and clubs and made his first professional experience as a sound engineer and producer in the larger recording studios Hansa , Trixx or Tritonus for hip-hop. and rap- oriented productions.

As a sound engineer he accompanied the Gap Band , Jay Ski and Midnight Star on their tours between 1989 and 1991 . During this time he also worked with TV stations, founded his own studio called "Chill Out" and was musically influenced by techno and the so-called "new electronic movement". With Nico Mesterharm, Yoram Roth and Thomas Jost he founded the electronic independent label D'vision Netcom in 1992 . This was followed by publications, concerts and label parties in the Berlin club scene, for example in the E-Werk, in Dr McCoy's practice, in the Tresor and at the Love Parade .

In the 1990s, Zippel produced the singing legends Yma Sumac , Ruth Brown and LaVern Baker with Mesterharm in Los Angeles . He had his first chart success in 1994 with the production of the single "Cry, Cry Louise" for Kate Yanai . Between 1994 and 2000 he produced dance and techno artists or created remixes of their tracks such as B. for DJ Hooligan , later also for SNAP! and Schiller and many more. During this time he also acted as mastering and technical support for the labels Studio K7 , SpiritZone, Sony , BMG and Universal within his own studio , wrote music for TV spots and films and published co-productions with artists such as Paul van Dyk and Marcos Lopez .

At the end of the 1990s he released his first electronic solo albums under the name "Genuine". Also in the 1990s, Zippel worked closely with the Berlin label MFS , whose manager Mark Reeder introduced him to the Pet Shop Boys in 2000 . A little later they decided in favor of Zippel as producer and co-author for their own works, from which a long-term collaboration developed, which finally merged in 2006 in a joint production by Robbie Williams .

During a production with the singer Maya Saban , Chris Zippel met the singer Adel Tawil in 2005 , which led to a position as a producer for the project Ich + Ich initiated by Adel and Annette Humpe . Ich + Ich's albums achieved multiple platinum sales status.

Zippel later relocated his home and work to Ibiza , Spain . This is where the songs for his third album "Genuine Horizon" (Label: Elektrolux) from 2007 were created, which was also released in Japan in 2008 as a special edition and in 2009 as a remix edition. Together with co-producer Florian Richter, he worked on his music project “Amnid”. Diana King , Shola Ama and Anggun were able to win "Amnid" as guest singers.
