Christiane Libor

Christiane Libor (* in Berlin ) is a German song , concert and opera singer with a dramatic soprano voice . She is professor for singing at the Karlsruhe University of Music .

Life and artistic work

Christiane Libor completed her vocal studies (opera and lied) at the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music in Berlin with Anneliese Fried. She was taught by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau , Júlia Várady and Brigitte Fassbaender and took part in master classes with Edith Mathis , Peter Schreier , Hans Hotter and Josef Protschka . In 1999 she made her debut as First Lady in the Magic Flute at the National Reisopera in Enschede and as Agathe in Freischütz . In 2002 Christiane Libor made her debut at the Hamburg State Opera as First Lady in the Magic Flute , where she sang roles such as Feldmarschallin in Rosenkavalier or Rosalinde in Fledermaus in the following years . In the years that followed, she sang roles by Richard Strauss , Carl Maria von Weber and Leonore in Beethoven's Fidelio in addition to major Wagnerian roles . Engagements have taken her to opera houses such as the Hanover State Opera , the Nuremberg State Theater , the Graz Opera , the Unter den Linden State Opera , the Zurich Opera House , the Vienna Volksoper , the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe , the Opéra National de Paris , the Leipzig Opera , the State Theater Stuttgart and the Theater an der Wien .

At the Leipzig Opera she sang all Brünnhilde roles in Richard Wagner's tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen under the direction of GMD Ulf Schirmer .

In February 2018 she made her debut at the Staatstheater Stuttgart as Kundry in Parsifal under the direction of Sylvain Cambreling .

In addition to her stage presence, Christiane Libor works as a lieder and concert singer. Performances took her to the Schubertiade Feldkirch, the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, to Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Israel, South America, South Africa, etc. She performed with the great orchestras of the time under conductors such as Jörg Faerber , Helmuth Rilling , Markus Stenz , Kurt Masur , Jaap van Zweden , Simone Young , Ingo Metzmacher , Frieder Bernius and Christoph Prick .

Christiane Libor teaches singing as a professor at the Karlsruhe University of Music .
