Christine Adams (born August 15, 1974 in London , England ) is a British - American actress of Jamaican origin. She gained fame primarily through the role of Agent Weaver from the Marvel's Agents of SHIELD series

life and career

Christine Adams was born in London to Jamaican parents. Her first acting work was the setting of a character in the video game The World Is Not Enough , published in 2000 . She then took on her first roles in front of the camera with guest appearances in the series EastEnders , In Deep , Doctors , My Family , Murder in Mind and Stargate - Kommando SG-1 . She moved to the States around 2002. In 2004 she took on a supporting role in the miniseries NY-LON . The following year she appeared in the US action film Submerged as Dr. Chapelle in a supporting role and was also seen in a small role in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins . In 2006 she starred in the short-lived UK sitcom Home Again .

She then went on to guest star on a number of series including Pushing Daisies , Lie to Me , Heroes , CSI: Miami, and Nip / Tuck - Beauty Has Its Price . In 2010 she was cast in the role of Claire Atkinson in the science fiction film Tron: Legacy . In 2011 she played a reporter in the thriller Verblendung . Also in 2011 she was seen as Mira in one of the leading roles in the series Terra Nova . Another leading role followed as Lena Boudreaux in The Whole Truth . From 2014 to 2015 she starred as Agent Anna Weaver in the series Marvel's Agents of SHIELD in a recurring role. She also appeared in Legends , The Mentalist , Castle and Counterpart . In 2016 she was part of the regular cast of the series Feed the Beast in Rie Moran . Since 2018 she can be seen as Lynne Pierce in one of the leading roles in the series Black Lightning .

Personal

Christine Adams is a graduate of Middlesex University . She now lives in Los Angeles with her husband David Young, with whom she has two daughters . In October 2019, she took on both British and US citizenship.
