Life

Christoph Busse studied from 1968 to 1971 at the German Film and Television Academy in West Berlin , the trade director and was in 1970 a founding member of the jazz-rock group Os Mundi in which he acted as drummer. Other members of the group included a. Udo Arndt (music producer), Mikro Rilling , Wolfgang “Buddy” Mandler, Ludolf Kuchenbuch , Andreas Villain and Erik Spiekermann . The group disbanded in 1980.

From 1971 Busse produced short films for the German Sesame Street for NDR . Between 1976 and 1983 he wrote and produced numerous songs that were broadcast as filmed contributions in Sesame Street, some of which achieved a high level of awareness, including among adults (e.g. the sun song 1977). If not by him, they were mostly sung by Peter Bauer . Until August 1994, these songs and their videos were broadcast on television across Germany. With well over 100,000 copies sold, the series Funny Songs from Sesame Street (1993–1995) was one of the best-known publications in this field.

In 1977 he was director and co-author (with Olaf Leitner ) of the NDR television film Saitenwechsel , which in a semi-documentary narrated the life of the musician Klaus Renft , who was expelled from the GDR . Renft from the group of the same name played himself in it and the film showed the problematic "strings / side changes" from East to West Germany. Peter Bauer also played an important role in this film.

Between 1982 and 1987 Busse produced a total of five albums with the singer Hans Hartz , for which he composed and wrote most of the songs. He wrote and produced songs for Dan McCafferty (front man from Nazareth ), Herman van Veen , Novalis , Nana Mouskouri , Veronika Fischer , Bernd Kaczmarek , Hardy Rudolz , Speelwark and many more.

In 1993 he produced under the pseudonym Robert Rocco with well-known Irish and Scottish musicians (Dan McCafferty, Martin O'Connor, Davy Spillane , John McCoy, Ian Cussick , Sean Keane from the Chieftains , Scott Williams, Susanna Reed, Herbert Bartmann (a German bagpiper ), Drue Williams and Detlef Wiedeke alias Dennis Kramer) the album Seasons - Going home.

In 1995 he set and produced texts by Janosch : Rebellenlieder (Emil Grünbär).

In 1999, together with Winfried Debertin (the inventor of Hallo Spencer ) , Busse created Die Obercoole Südpolgang, a cartoon series about five penguins, which was broadcast for many years in Our Sandman and in KIKA and regularly reached over a million viewers. The songs of the Obercoolen Südpolgang have been sold over 250,000 times.
