In January it became known that the district office had signed a cooperation agreement with the private television broadcaster TeleVision Zwickau at the beginning of 2012. Scheurer was seen several times on the TV show "TAG aktuell". Through the cooperation agreement, the district administrator was guaranteed 55 contributions for a fee and the "unrestricted right of use" was transferred, so that the videos could be integrated into a media library on the district's website and uploaded to YouTube . The contract also states that there should be regular agreements on the content of the film recordings. According to the press spokeswoman for the district of Zwickau, Ilona Schilk, TeleVision approached the district office with the offer of cooperation. TeleVision denies this. In addition, according to Schilk, contributions were never “talked into” or “examined”. The FDP parliamentary group of the district council stated that they also worked with TeleVision. The managing director of the FDP also mentions that they worked together on content.

On March 3, 2014, TeleVision Zwickau held a hearing at the Saxon State Agency for Private Broadcasting and New Media (SLM) . On March 24th, the SLM Media Council decided to impose a fine of 15,000 euros on TeleVision Zwickau as well as a formal complaint.
