Cité Chinoise is a district ( French : quartier ) in the Arrondissement Niamey I of the city of Niamey in Niger .

geography

Cité Chinoise is located on National Road 24 in the north of Niamey. The surrounding neighborhoods are Francophonie in the north, North Lazaret in the east, Dar Es Salam in the south and Bobiel in the west. Like the entire north of Niamey, the district is located in a table land with a layer of sand less than 2.5 meters deep, which means that only limited infiltration is possible.

history

In the 1970s there was still an undeveloped and treeless arable area here. The Cité Chinoise neighborhood, formerly known as Taiwan , emerged after 1989.

population

At the 2012 census, Cité Chinoise had 2519 inhabitants living in 427 households.

Infrastructure

The middle school Collège d'enseignement général 35 Cité Chinoise (CEG 35) has existed since 2009.
