Tchangarey II (also: Tchangarey 2 ) is a district ( French : quartier ) in the Arrondissement Niamey I of the city of Niamey in Niger .

geography

Tchangarey II is located on National Road 24 on the northern edge of the urban parish of Niamey. The surrounding settlements include the Koira Tagui district in the east and the rural village of Bangou-Tondibia in the north. Like the entire north of Niamey, the district is located in a plateau with a layer of sand less than 2.5 meters deep, which means that only limited infiltration is possible.

history

The district emerged at the beginning of the 21st century. In the period from 2000 to 2004, the city council of Niamey carried out parcelling here and in seven other peripheral areas and sold the land.

population

At the 2012 census, Tchangarey II had 7987 residents who lived in 1252 households.
