Gabou Goura (also: Gabagoura , Gabougoura ) is a village in the Niamey I arrondissement of the city of Niamey in Niger .

The village, led by a traditional chief (chef traditionnel) , is located on the Niger River in the west of the rural area of ​​Niamey I. The surrounding settlements include the village of Tondibiah in the northwest and the village of Kossèye in the southeast.

In the village, which is not far from the Tondibiah military camp , social housing for the Ministry of Defense has been built. The first 53 apartments were completed in 2012. In 2015, the then Defense Minister Mahamadou Karidio opened the Cité Karidio Mahamadou named after him , a complex of 200 other social housing. In August 2017, the floods in Gabou Goura destroyed 239 adobe houses.

At the 2012 census, Gabou Goura had 2,402 inhabitants who lived in 384 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 1,551 in 198 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 1,200 in 166 households.

The public primary school Ecole primaire de Gabou Goura was founded in 1974. Women from the village practice irrigation farming .
