Soudouré Gorou

Soudouré Gorou is a village in the Niamey I arrondissement of the city of Niamey in Niger .

The village is located to the west of the rural parish of Niamey and north of the village of Soudouré . The word gorou comes from the Zarma language and means " dry valley ". The dry valley of the same name, Soudouré Gorou , which flows into the Niger River and has a length of 12 km and a catchment area of ​​more than 150 km² runs near the village . Along with the Gounti Yéna in the city center, it is considered to be the most important dry valley on the left bank of the Niger in Niamey.

During a flood on August 5, 2007, the bridge of National Road 1 and a dam over the dry valley were torn away by the floods and later rebuilt.

At the 2012 census, Soudouré Gorou had 10 residents who lived in 3 households.

Irrigation farming is practiced in the village .
