The Town of Clyde is located in southwest Wisconsin on the south bank of the Wisconsin River , a left tributary of the Mississippi . The intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota, located on the Mississippi, is around 120 km to the northwest; to Illinois it is around 80 km south.

The Wisconsin State Highway 133 , which runs along the Wisconsin River, runs through the town in a west-east direction. From this the Wisconsin State Highway 130 branches off to the south. In addition, the County Highways C, I and N run through the area of the Town of Clyde. All other roads are subordinate country roads and partly unpaved roads.
A railroad line of the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad runs along the Wisconsin River for freight traffic , which runs from the Mississippi to Madison and from there to Milwaukee .
