The Col de Soudet (also: Col du Soudet ) is a 1540 meter high mountain pass in the Central Pyrenees in the French department Pyrénées-Atlantiques . It forms the transition between the former Basque province of Soule in the west and the Barétous in the north and the Vallée d'Aspe in the east. From the top of the pass, the D 132 coming from the north continues over the 1760 meter high Col de la Pierre Saint-Martin to Roncal in Spain .
Routing
Five different routes lead to the Col de Soudet:
- from the west the D 113 via Sainte-Engrâce and the Col de Suscousse (1216 meters), 21.5 km
- from Lanne-en-Barétous in the north the D 632 via Issarbe (1425 meters) and the Col de Suscousse, then continue on the D 113, 26 km
- from Arette in the north the D 132 over the Col de Labays (1351 meters), 22 km
- from Issor in the northeast via the D 241, D 341 and D 441 to the Col de Labays, then continue on the D 132, 24 km
- from Osse-en-Aspe in the east the D 441 over the Col de Bouézou (1009 meters) to the Col de Labays, then also on the D 132, 24 km
Tour de France
The Col du Soudet has only been on the Tour de France program since the 1980s . Ridden for the first time in 1987 as an increase in the Hors Catégorie , it has been operating as the first category mountain classification since 1991 .
