Corinna Simon
Corinna Simon (* in Berlin ) is a German pianist.
Life
Corinna Simon received her first piano lessons at the age of five. At the age of twelve she was accepted into the Julius Stern Institute . She completed her training as a concert pianist at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin with Ingeborg Wunder and from 1987 at the Musikhochschule München with Ludwig Hoffmann . Masterclasses with György Sebök , Malcolm Frager , Karl-Heinz Kämmerling , Maria Curcio and Halina Czerny-Stefańska completed her studies.
In 1984 she made her solo debut in the Berlin Philharmonic . This was followed by engagements in numerous European cities as well as in China, Indonesia, Singapore, India, South Africa and the USA. She has made guest appearances in important music centers such as Paris , Vienna , Brussels , Stockholm , Oslo , Moscow , Jakarta , Singapore , Johannesburg , Washington , San Francisco and New York .
Corinna Simon played at major official festive events in honor of the former Federal President Roman Herzog , Mohammed el-Baradei , HRH Prince El Hassan ibn Talal of Jordan, Hans-Dietrich Genscher , Dennis Meadows (co-founder of the “ Club of Rome ”) and others. She has worked with renowned conductors such as Jakov Kreizberg , Marc Piollet , Lior Shambadal , Cristóbal Halffter , Lukas Karytinos, Walter Weller and Hans Werner Henze .
Corinna Simon has been leading a training class for gifted young people since 1989. The successful professional musicians Sophie Mautner ( Echo (music award) ) and Martin Helmchen emerged from this. She also regularly gives master classes at internationally renowned music academies.
She is a juror in the Jugend musiziert competition and in the international Steinway piano competition.
Corinna Simon has released several CDs and recorded numerous works for the radio, including compositions by Bach , Scarlatti , Haydn , Mozart , Beethoven , Chopin , Schumann , Brahms , Debussy , Ravel and Prokofiev .
