Corona quarantine Tape is the fifteenth studio album by German rock - band Frei.Wild from Brixen in South Tyrol . It was released on April 10, 2020 via the Rookies & Kings label for download and streaming . Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , a physical release on CD only took place afterwards. A publication on LP is also planned.

With the album, Frei.Wild responded to the worldwide spread of the respiratory disease COVID-19 , which was ongoing at the time of publication, and thus the following measures:

“We show the corona shit the middle finger, stand up against the paralysis of the quarantine regulations and have brewed THE antidote for you against boredom and loneliness. A healing mixture of 11 brand new tracks. "

Cover design

The album cover shows an illustration of the coronavirus in shades of gray. At the tips are roses that stand out for their red color. At the top right of the picture are the black lettering Frei.Wild and the album title Corona Quarantäne Tape , in between is written in red letters Everything will be fine!

Chart successes

The Corona Quarantine Tape entered the German album charts on April 17, 2020 only because of streaming and downloads . After publication in physical form as a CD album on May 8, 2020 reached the chart peak . It also topped the charts for the most successful German-language albums in Germany for a week . In Austria the album position and in three of Switzerland eighth reached.

For Frei.Wild this is the sixth number one success in the German album charts as well as the 14th top 10 success and 15th chart success in the Top 100. In Austria, the Corona Quarantine Tape became the twelfth top 10 album as well for the 14th chart success. In Switzerland, Frei.Wild reached the top 10 for the sixth time and the charts for the twelfth time.
