Curt Miehe

Curt Miehe (born August 17, 1903 in Dessau , † July 6, 1965 in Hanover ) was a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Miehe was born the son of a postal worker. After attending secondary school in Dessau he studied law at the universities of Leipzig and Berlin in which he in 1926 with the first and 1,930 legal with the second state exam and 1927 with the promotion of Dr. jur. finished. He then worked as a lawyer and notary in Dessau.

In 1941 Miehe joined the NSDAP . He had been a member of the NSKK since 1936 and Rottenführer there since 1940.

In 1951, Miehe moved to West Germany for political reasons , settled in Lower Saxony and worked as an administrative lawyer in Braunschweig . He had been a member of the Administrative Court Council since 1952, was appointed Administrative Court Director in 1953 and served from 1954 to 1956 as Ministerial Counselor or Ministerial Director in the Lower Saxony State Chancellery . From 1956 to 1958 he was President of the Braunschweig Administrative Court.

Miehe was provisional district president in Stade in 1958/59 . He joined the SPD in 1959 and was State Secretary in the State Chancellery of Lower Saxony from 1959 to 1964 . From June 24, 1964 until his death he was Minister for Federal Affairs, Displaced Persons and Refugees in the state government led by Prime Minister Georg Diederichs . Maria Meyer-Sevenich was appointed as his successor in office .
