DEFAS Bavaria

DEFAS Bavaria ( D urchgängiges E lektronisches F ahrgastinformations- and A nschlusssicherungs- S ystem Bayern ) is an online travel information system for the public local - and regional trains in Bavaria , which from the Bavarian Railway Company was planned (BEG) from the year of 2005. Since January 1, 2011 DEFAS has been available to the general public under the name Bayern-Timetable .

purpose

DEFAS offers a central and non-discriminatory platform to provide a minute-by-minute overview of all public transport in Bavaria and thus to be able to offer passengers continuous travel information. The information is based on the current operating situation, i.e. H. they take place in real time , provided the means of transport are connected to a computer-aided operations control system . The function of mutual connection security is open to all participating transport companies.
