Dambinietz ( Polish Dębiniec , 1934–1945 Eichberge ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Dambinietz is located in the municipality of Murow in the Opolski powiat in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

Dambinietz is located in the north-western part of Upper Silesia. Dambinietz is about ten kilometers east of the municipality seat Murow and about 30 kilometers north of the district town and voivodeship capital Opole .

The street village is located in the middle of extensive forest areas that belong to the Stobrawski Landscape Protection Park . East of Dambinietz runs the Jełowa – Kluczbork railway line with the Tuły stop ( Thule ).

North of Dambinietz is the place Georgenwerk (Polish: Bukowo ). In the south lie the two places Neu Budkowitz ( Eng . Nowe Budkowice ) and Alt Budkowitz (Polish. Stare Budkowice ).

history

The Slavic place name Dębiniec is derived from the Polish word Dąb (English oak ).

In 1845 there was a tea oven and 55 other houses in the village. In the same year 350 people lived in Dambinietz. In 1874 the district of Alt Budkowitz was founded, to which Dambinietz was incorporated.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 213 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 188 for Poland. Dambinietz remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 656 inhabitants. On April 18, 1934, the place was renamed Eichberge . In 1939 the place had 630 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Opole .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration, was renamed Dębiniec and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 to the re-established Powiat Opolski . In March 2009, the place was also given the official German place name Dambinietz .
