The Damen Combi Coaster 1700 is a type of coaster from the Dutch shipyard Damen Shipyards in Gorinchem .
history
The ship type was designed by the Saint Petersburg- based company Marine Engineering Bureau (project CC1700). The ships were built from 2003 to 2005 at the Damen Shipyards in Gorinchem. The hulls were each supplied by Eastern European shipyards.
The first three units were built for the Netherlands. You sail under the flag of the Netherlands with home port Delfzijl . The vessels are of EemsWerken bereedert and Amasus Shipping freighted. They have been chartered out to HSW Logistics (a joint venture between Haeger & Schmidt and the Norwegian Wilson Group) since the end of 2014 . The fourth ship in the series was built for the See-Transit Schiffahrts- und Speditionsgesellschaft in Duisburg . It sailed under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda with its home port of St. John’s . In the summer of 2015 it was sold and brought under the flag of the Caribbean state of St. Vincent and the Grenadines . It is now operated by Baltnautic Shipping.

The ships are from a four-stroke - twelve-cylinder - diesel engine of the manufacturer Caterpillar : 954 (Type 3512 B DITA) kW power driven, which is restricted to saving machine personnel on board to 749 kW. The engine acts on a fixed propeller . The ships are equipped with a bow thruster powered by a diesel engine with 205 kW output.
For power generation are two Valmet - diesel generators , each with 80 kVA apparent power and a Valmet emergency and harbor generator with 56 kVA apparent power available.
In terms of dimensions, the ships differ slightly. The type ship of the series is 81.99 meters long. The load capacity is 1,760 t, the volume of the loading space 2,946 m³. The ship is measured at 1,556 GT. The subsequent buildings are 82.25 meters long. Their load capacity is 1,820 and 1,842 t respectively, the volume of the cargo space is 2,986 t. The ships are measured at 1,583 GT. The third and fourth ships in the series are equipped for the transport of containers ; the container capacity is 48 TEU .
The flat deckhouse is located in the rear of the ships. The masts can be folded down to pass under bridges . There is space on board for six crew members who are accommodated in individual cabins. In front of the deckhouse is the hold, which is closed with eight pontoon hatch covers . The hatch covers can be moved with a hatch cart. The box-shaped cargo space is 51.10 meters long and 9.30 meters wide. The height of the room is 6.20 meters. The tank top can be loaded with 12 t / m², the hatch cover with 1.6 t / m².
